About Yimei

ABOUT THIS BRAND

Reading has always been one of my source of relaxation and solace during challenging times. One of my favorite childhood stories was the Chinese fable of the mythical “seven-colored flower.” Each petal grants a unique wish in the tale, symbolizing positivity and hope. I believe my designs can carry the same transformative power as the seven-colored flower, helping others achieve their aspirations.

This connection to stories and the hopeful symbolism of the seven-colored flower defines my brand. My design philosophy integrates the timeless inspiration of books with the vibrant optimism of the flower, creating meaningful work that celebrates literature, culture, and the boundless potential of human creativity.

I’m Yimei Tang, a graduate of the communication design major at Syracuse University, born and raised in Beijing and now based in New York. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the book industry, I spent my childhood surrounded by stories in my parents’ book warehouse. That environment sparked my imagination and instilled a lifelong passion for storytelling and culture.

My design philosophy is centered on bringing diverse cultural perspectives into my work. I view design as a powerful tool to bridge cultures, foster understanding, and challenge conventional thinking. I strive to create work that is thought-provoking and reflective of the world around me.
